Let there be light

Image
The heat was relentless as if it was out of spite She was scorched and blinded by the blazing white One sided and mismatched as it gets with a fight Until he showed up to protect her and punched above his weight    Blocking and shading the hapless earth from her summer plight Burnt and scorched, yet he never let her out of his sight   Slim were his chances against the blazing Sun's might He grew as dark and thick as he could and fought valiantly until twilight Even as the damsel earth looked up with gratitude to thank the dark cloudy knight     A spent and frustrated, Sun sighed a tired goodnight   The battle is not over and the Sun will be back tomorrow with a bigger bite But the cloud will reminisce the day he had the last laugh and won the fight   A day when a tired Sun was ready to switch off for the night, The gutsy cloud taunted him with a roar, ‘Let there be light’

Melting Hope

Image
We evolved rapidly, riding on our distinction. Even as we pushed other species to their edge of extinction We made the blue planet spin towards a scary red future Our price for playing God and messing with Mother nature We managed to boil the Oceans, not with flame or fire and yet we refuse to curb our apathy and cold-hearted desire We wonder why the tides rise higher and winds lash faster even as we blame each other for all disaster Will we slow down and pay heed? Or has greed become our overbearing need? Can green cool this hot crucible? Or is it too late and the damage irreversible? Will we do it differently if we start over again Will we give this earth a better bargain? How dare you? roars mother nature for taking her down this slope She can't bear to witness another pain of melting hope

Will of your heart

I clicked this photo of a flower in my balcony garden. While we whine and complain about the difficulties of life, this flower was an inspiration in fighting the odds. Rising from a dirty mud-filled pot to become such a beautiful bloom is a story worth being told Mighty did I feel looking down from the perch Until an unseen threat left me in the lurch; Scared and scarred, of the impending doom Down on my knees,  sulking in the gloom; Humbled as I was, pushed to the dust As the eyes locked on earthy roots covered in dirt; Out came a stem bowed and bent Weight of its bloom seemingly adding to its torment; Pretty in pink, displaying strength in fragility A lesson so powerful, about thriving in adversity; It matters not, how often you fall or how bad you start All that counts is how tall you rise with the will of your heart ;

Eye in the sky

What would the Sun think shining light on the earth day in and day out? It is not the Sun that sets to let in darkness, it is us who turn around every day to make him vanish.  A Photo I took from the balcony   My  shift here is done and it’s time for me to go down To awaken a world that is ready for a new dawn Fear, not the darkness that comes with the night Long before your eyes open, I will be back in your sight You who turned around and not me who said goodbye   I will always watch over you for I am the  'Eye in the sky'

I want to break free

There are many who are itching to go out in spite of this lockdown curfew.   This is an attempt to see the world from a Covidiot's point of view A photo I clicked from my terrace Breaking through the clouds peeped out the Moon Hiding is safe when we know it will all end very soon Rather shine some light before starting to wane Than let the darkness turn you insane We know not what the future has  in store for us So why lock away the only present even if it has a virus It matters not what WHO thinks of Xi  All that matters to me is -   'I want to break free'

Confused,Without a doubt

Sometimes, you rush before it’s too late To beat a deadline set by a nonexistent last date You feel the urge of wanting to create An idea that the head refuses to originate You set sail on a journey with no destination to reach? To be alone even when you are not the only pebble on the beach Sometimes you play the game even when you don't have fun?  And compete in the race that you don’t run? You try to quit all that is stale and mundane Even if the mind has become numb and insane Sometimes it is easier to drift without listening to the head And stop chasing time and let life seek you instead The heart deserves to be free and the mind needs to be calm By clearing the head of its raging storm No wisdom on earth can put your mind at ease When you chose to be driftwood in the high seas You don't need an enemy to get you out When you are confused, without a doubt.
